MP3 Shield

Hello.

I have not been able to solve this problem and I am hoping someone an help.

I have the adafruit MP3 shield.

Out of the box, with an out of the box UNO and the 10 pin, 2 8 pin and 1 6 pin headers installed on the peripheral portion of the MP3 shield to mate with the UNO...

and the 2x3 header installed on the bottom of the shield to mate with the UNO ICSP...

Run "simple player"...something starts burning.

I have gone through 4 MP3 cards now and have tried multiple unos as well...same result. Nothing is even plugged into either card At first I thought maybe bad soldering, but I've now used 3 different people (hobby shop employees, etc) and it keeps happening...smells and sounds like burning and indeed the MP3 shield appears to show burn damage near the 2x3 "pin 13" pads that you can separate with an exacto knife. The documentation says nothing about "you should disconnect these leads", but I simply don't know, so now I'm moving to a Mega board simply because the adafruit documentation is slightly more thorough...but I don't get why this would be happening. Any ideas?
