MPLAB X vs Arduino

Hello,
this is my first request in the forum.
I often used MPLAB X to develop project on the 8 and 16 bit Microchip microcontroller, now for hobby
I would to develop some little projects with Arduino.
My question is: Is it possible to interface MPLAB X to a Arduino boards?
I searched an answer on Internet, but I did not found a definitive replay.

Thank you

First, check to see whether MPLAB X supports the microprocessor in the "Arduino board" you wish to program.

If that board uses a PIC processor, then yes.

I think the current version of MPLABX supports the AVR chips made by Microchip. I think you need PicKit4 to program them. I say 'I think' because I have not checked.

Do remember that some chips, such as EPS8266, that can be programmed by the Arduino IDE are not made by Microchip, so won't be programmable with MPLABX.

You could just read the documentation on Microchip's web site.

I did check, and Microchip recommends to download and use AVR Studio. MPLAB support for AVR chips is preliminary.

Which confirmed my suspicion that the OP didn't search very hard for an answer. I didn't check because this is exactly the kind of question folk can answer for themselves if they will only bother to look.
