MPU-6050 Gryo/Accelerometer Response Time

Every video I see of this cheap little gyro/accelerometer seems like there is a major lag in response time. I need a gyro/accelerometer that is almost instantaneous for a VR headset; So is this lag because of the arduino/gyro response time or is it the computer causing the lag?

Also, what sensor would I need if I want to sense tilt AND position (Like if I were to move my head forward or backward)?
