+1 for "burn in". Run the sensor 24-72 hours before using.
Which gas do you want to measure, over what range of concentrations, and how accurately?
All of the MQ sensors respond to several different gases, and there is no way to tell which it is sensing, without using some other type of sensor. The MQ sensors are useful only to inform you that something in the environment has changed.
