Is it possible to output multiple channels of (lofi) audio from a teensy without needing a bunch of shields?
Basically I only need to produce square waves in the range of 20 to 250Hz, and I don't actually need to listen to them, so they don't need to be clean/antialiased. It could literally be a 1-bit audio kind of situation. I'm thinking 4 channels at the moment, but up to 8 would be ideal.

The intended purpose for this is to be able to drive wireless haptic feedback using a Basslet as part of a larger project I'm working on (networked music score). I've looked at some other options (Soundbrenner, and fully DIY/xbee options), but after testing out a Basslet today, this seems very promising. I wouldn't want to dedicate analog audio outputs from a "real" soundcard for this, especially since the Basslet only reproduces frequencies between 20-250Hz, and in doing some testing, it literally doesn't matter of it's sine/square/saw, as it has a pretty steep low pass filter on it. So what I was thinking would be an ideal solution would be to make a USB-MIDI teensy "synth" that would take MIDI note on/off (on several MIDI channels), and that would output "audio" to each of the Basslet transmitters. I could then box this whole thing up in a little plastic enclosure.
