Hi,
I'm a newbie and I'm trying to build a kind of encoder with hall effect sensors 3144. The connection with a resistor (10 Kohm ) between the positive and the signal does not work when I put two or three sensors in parallel. Putting a 20 Kohn resistance works better but not very stable. Someone can help me
Do you mean Allegro A3144 hall switches with open collector? They are rated for 25mA and
should be fine to parallel as you describe.
What supply voltage are you using?
Can you be more forthcoming about how it fails ("does not work" is not informative for troubleshooting!)
The malfunctioning with 10 kohms resistances lies in the fact that when the first sensor is excited it gives the right signal while the second one, if energized, may not give a signal. It gives the signal only with the excitement of the third or fourth. But the thing is casual. With the 20 kohm resistor, it is much better but it is not perfect because sometimes the sensor excited subsequently does not give the right signal
Any suggestion
