Multiple MKR Motor Carriers?

From a hardware perspective is it possible to stack or otherwise interface with more than 1 MKR motor carrier?

From a software perspective does the library support instantiating more than one controller object?

My goal is to overcome the limitations of the single carrier -- I need to drive 4 DC motors and 6 servos. I also want to utilize the feedback encoders for all 4 motors and it appears the motor carrier is limited to 2 high precision inputs.

Or, would I be better off forgetting the motor carrier and using the connector carrier to interface with the motors and servos over serial?
