Multiple Power Rails and Power Supply ICs; 24v in to 24v, 12v, and 5V out

Hey guys,

I am doing a project where I need to power and control an Aruino Yun (5V), LED lights (12v), and an ultrasonic fogger (24v).

I would like to use a 24v power supply to the assembly, and then using IC DC-DC converters, I'd like to provide a power rail for the 24v fogger, 12v LEDs, and 5v Arduino. I'd also like recommendations on MOSFETS or other transistors that can be used to control the 12v and 24v circuits with the Arduino I/O.

Can you guys propose a circuit that is relatively small, and recommend some power supply IC's for purchase?

Thanks, and let me know if you need more info!

I just found this, will it do the job for the power distrobution?

However, I would still need suggestions on IC's to control the 12v and 24v circuits with the Arduino. Are there solid state switches that can control 24v?

Give is a hint with what you want to control (current). This will make it possible to make suggestions.

Sure, as I stated in the post above, the 12v is for an LED light and the 24v is for an ultrasonic fogger. Dividing the watts by voltage, the LED draws about 420mA and the Fogger draws 800mA. So they're not high amperage.

Deal Extreme have voltage converters suitable for this conversion from 24v to 12v and 5v. So would many of the other hobby electronics stores. Do a search of the popular stores for step down voltage converters.

The actual switching of the load by the Arduino can be done by relay boards or mosfets.

So you're confirming that I can switch a 24v and 12v load with MOSFETS? Any specific recommendations? This will be for LED lights and an ultrasonic fogger.

My favourite small mosfet is NTD5867NL. It works with 5v on the gate and handles a few amps with ease. They are cheap. I bought mine from RS Components.
