Multiple PZEM energy monitors

Hi there,

i need advice about my project. I use wemos d1 mini with 3x pzem 004 v3 power meters with softwareserial

I need to monitor 8 circuits and here i run out of gpio ports. Which way should i go?

  1. D1 mini + port extender like pcf8574
  2. different board like esp32 or mega with more gpio
  3. Hardwareserial

What u guys recommend? Thank you

Do you need wifi ?

If you didn't, I would definitely go with the Mega for its 4 hardware serial ports.

You did not define the interactions.
If all sensors are independent
You could just duplicate the 4 you have now.

Speed of sensing and control are also important.

Can you give us the whole project?

@ieee488 yes i need wifi and would like to stay with esp if possible due to small size

@dave-in-nj this is the code i currently use

It basically reads all the cirtuits data and sends to blynk & display on oled. It works great but i am out of pins here.

Any idea?
