Has anyone tried using this board from Sparkfun with an arduino?

I am thinking of running a robot that needs the serial to interface with a servo controller, and I also want to communicate using an Xbee.

It looks like the board runs on 3.3 vdc. Other than that, I'm not sure of the code needed to control it even if it works hardware-wise.

That board does not do what you want. The easiest thing for you to do is to use one of the software serial libraries to talk with your servo controller (assuming it uses TTL levels). I like the NewSoftSerial library here : http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1233298805/0
