Hello - new to working with muscle sensors and they are a large component in a final project I am working on for a 2nd year college class. The goal is to use the sensors to test strength of the muscles in the lower leg and foot. The one I found from adafruit is pretty expensive ($37.95) and not any less on other sites, link is in the bottom of this post. I would like to find some less expensive ones that I could at least test out before buying such an expensive item.
Oops, load cells are that costly. I understand You. Then various level sensors looks like the an alternative. Right now my Windows don't allow me to check previous answers, thinking about Your experience of level sencing in descrete steps.
A more idea. Arrange a tube connected to the bottom of the tank. In the other end of the tube install a preasure sensor. Sensor range will be according to the height of Your tank.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Affordable prosthetics is a popular theme for the "maker" crowd. I'm sure others have run into the same problem you're having. I recommend doing some research to see if they came up with a cheaper solution. Here's something I found:
I'm sure there are more.
It doesn't appear that the MyoWare is open source hardware. It may be that they are charging a premium and you could save money by making something like it yourself. On the other hand, these are very tiny signals so it might well be that the components are just expensive.

This isn't a load cell. It's a myoelectric sensor. Maybe you commented on the wrong thread?
