Music Audio Input - no soldering?

Hey everyone!

I've been working on an automatic guitar tuner that's going to function something like the Roadie 2. You strum the string, and the tool would tune it for you! It's basically going to be a peg grip attached to a motor, which is receiving data from the Arduino.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to get the audio input into the Arduino without soldering wires to a guitar cable. Is there any way to have the automatic tuner so that the Arduino takes in the audio input without being physically connected? I was thinking about a vibration sensor, but would that be accurate enough to tune a guitar?

Thank you so much for any input! I'm more of a designer so I'm not very familiar with the electric components, though I'm trying =)

Yeah, a piezo disk makes a good contact microphone.

depending on your setup you might be able to use any mic for that. Just attach it to the guitar body in some way.
