My Arduino environment is quadrupled on screen

With image divided into four parts, I can download and run sketches, but can't see all the code. I am complete novice. Please help.

Not that I have any solutions for you, but it will help others to help you if you tell us what operating system you use...

Why did you post this in the "hardware" section rather than the "software" section? Just interested because it seems like a lot of posts get put in this section that would be much better suited in the software section.

Also maybe a screenshot?

Trialex,
I'm using Windows XP. No hardware, other than the Arduino Duemilanove ATmega328 and USB cable. Since the problem has always been present, and it runs BLINK and several variations, I put it under hardware. Guess it could be under either, like 32-bit versus 64-bit. Strangely, when I went to do a COPY screen, I was able to highlight all 4 screens, but it pasted a correct version in word! A symptom always present is 4 programming headers at the top of the page. Under that, I get 4 copies of whatever I do, although it tends to chop it up upon each new command. Thanks for any help you can pass on.

This is a known problem with the java version that ships with 017.

First thing to try is to rename the java or jre6 directory in arduino then restart the ide. If it works fine you already had a recent copy of java and you can delete the folder you renamed. If it won't run you can either rename the folder back and put up with it or find an up to date version of java on the internet (www.sun.com).

If this is a known problem with 0017, does it affect both Windows XP and Mac? What about Windows 7. I would expect an effort would be made to not ship it to people with conflicting environments. I'm willing to change my system to fit or ask for another Arduino, if that would help.
