My Arduino started smoking.

Hello there! I have a problem. I was making a RGB led strip project and i forgot to turn off my power supply and then i accidentally ran 12v to port A0. After that, i saw smoke rising and i noticed that a small 3 pinned ic has been burned. I don't know the ic-s name or number because the surface of the ic is damaged and toast :frowning: . When i tried to turn on the Arduino and test it on a project, the rx and tx LED-s are always blinking. The ic itself is located right next to the two bigger capacitors and between the small SMD capacitors. I have an Arduino wavgat r3 board and i would like to know what kind of component goes there and can i fix it? Or are the damages too big?

I would concur with spycatcher.
It is a wavgat too so I would certainly bin it.

Bob.

The three pin part in lower left? That would be the regulator. But if you applied 12v to A0, you also trashed the microcontroller.

Bin the board. Buy a new one, and this time don't make it a WAVGAT - those use a different not-quite-a-clone of the 328p, and are plagued with compatibility problems.
