My Arduino Uno rev 3 is not responding while uploading

Good Evening,

I have had my Arduino Uno for 4 years and it has been working great, however i was trying to upload a code for trust vector controlling with servos and it wouldn't upload so i went back to the blink example and it still didn't work so i went to a windows computer instead of mac and the same problem was happening its telling me that the programmer isn't responding

Remove any connections to pins 0 and 1 on your Arduino board. These pins are used for communication with your computer, including uploads. Connecting anything to these pins can interfere with uploads.

Make sure you have the correct board selected from the Tools > Board menu.

Make sure you have selected the port of your Arduino board from the Tools > Port menu.

Sometimes the port will be labeled with the board name in the menu. Other times it will not. If you don’t know which port is your Arduino board, you can find it like this:

  • Unplug your Arduino board from the computer.
  • Tools > Port
  • Note the ports, if any, listed in the menu.
  • Close the Tools menu. The ports list is only updated when the Tools menu is re-opened, so this step is essential.
  • Plug your Arduino board into the computer.
  • Tools > Port - The new port listed in the menu is your Arduino board.

I have done all those steps , I have a Arduino mega and another Uno that are both working with the same code. This Arduino Uno rev 3 is still having problems. the same error code is happening.

Could be the bootload code on the 328P is gone.
Try reloading it.

Could be the 16U2 that does the USB interface has either lost its code or it's fried.
Try the Loopback test: Reset on the Power header to Gnd, D0 to D1, open the serial monitor and see if what you type is returned.

I did the Loop test

connecting TX(1) to RX(0)
connecting reset pin to ground

and typed in the serial monitor, it didn't repeat what I typed , it didn't send back anything

Does this mean i need to get a new Arduino ?

Probably.
You could look up "DFU" to see about reloading the 16U2 code, in all likelihood it is fried, and beyond most folks capability to remove & replace.
