My arduino uno stopped working suddenly and no matter if I uninstall or install the driver doesn't work
I'm using windows 8.1PRO laptop and displays in IDE "Problem uploading to board"
AND when i plug in my arduino A WINDOWS MESSAGE POPS UP "LAST DEVICE CONNECTED MALFUNCTIONED "
*arduino and cable are new
and I have arduino nano but pc reads it and the IDE but the upload time is long and ends with it saying programmer not responding
and when I open trouble shoot in control panel this pops up"Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)"
In addition to saying "problem uploading to board" it also outputs an error message. Error messages have meaning, and you should post them. Same goes for the Nano. Whenever you ask for help with any technical issue for which an error message is shown, you should ALWAYS post the full text of any and all error messages - just because you don't know what they mean, doesn't mean we don't.
In my experience, "device descriptor request failed" normally indicates that the USB device is damaged (for example, when I was building my own CH340G based serial adapters because I'm a lunatic with serious NIHism, and the crystal wasn't soldered on one side, I got that).
What serial adapter does the "uno" have? Check the markings on the black chip near the USB port - it'll probably be either a 16u2 (official board or faithful clone), CH340G, or CP2102. The 16u2 is particularly susceptible to damage from abusing the power rail.
I have a 12u2 and the problem of uploading is for my UNO AND NANO but the uno isn't recognised by pc nor the IDE
but the NANO is recognized by both but takes long to upload
