My computer doesn't see the arduino

Hello,

My computer doesn't see my arduino. It can't even see it in control panels.
I've been trying to fix it and I used this guide https://www.arduino.cc/en/Hacking/DFUProgramming8U2, that means I connected the 2 pins.
I've did everything to the "Program the chip" part, but then the atmel flip program could't recognize my arduino. What can I do?

I've tried to unplug it, press the restart button and even trying to plug it into another computer, but nothing worked.
The program I lastly uploaded to it works just fine.

Sounds like your 16U2 is toast. Get a USB-to-TTL cable if you want to keep on using it.
