My nano is overheathing

when I plug the usb the atmel thing overheats ( not a usb problem I tried 2 other usb cables and it happend on those usb cables ) I am a little new so I dont
know the details please help

Which Nano?

Anything else connected?
Used for anything else before?

nano classic
aka just nano, I didnt use it and I just plugged the nano

If that is the case, sounds like ESD (electrostatic discharge) damage or faulty module from fabric.

If it's a clone, there's a possibility the MCU is a pirate chip with less quality.

Get a new one, either through warranty if that apply, otherwise buy one.

Original nano or clone? Did you solder the pin headers on it?

Post an annotated schematic showing exactly what you have. Show all connections, power, ground, power sources, and any other hardware items.

Just a suggestion. For every new board I use I connect only the IDE and run the example "Blink without delay" from File/Examples/ .....

Once that works I feel confident the board is working enough to start testing my code with whatever I am connecting to it.

Also if during you development you think the board has been damaged, disconnect everything and test as above. I found it has saved me a lot of troubleshooting time.
