- also, guys, could you please, I humbly say please to check the codes up there, because I don't know if that would work in a 8x24 (3 led matrices).
I have a midterm project which would display scrolling texts in a 8x24 led matrices, BUT we are restricted to use microcontrollers, just shift registers, gates, etc and other stuffs below microcontroller, but anyway, I have read on other forums that this is impossible or very hard to make.
also, Im afraid that TPIC6C595 isn't available in my country(I haven't check it though).
I have read completely the thread by hari, and some people say that they used just 74HC595 for all shift registers(therefore without such tpic6c595). so basically, I will just buy 74hc595, right?

I will buy some stuffs such as 74hc595 and led matrices tomorrow. \
(Edit: by the way, I have some knowledge on how to program C,C++,assembly language 8086, but basically, when it comes to microcontroller programming, I am a noob. I have tried basic codings with z8 encore microcontroller last time, so it will be my first time(later when I get my arduino) to use this arduino. I am a 4th year computer engineering, and my microcontroller(embedded system) subject is in my 5th year.)
