Hey chaps, I have this faux N64 controller which I had disassembled to its PCB intending to make a controller PCB from PCBWay.
It's my first time designing a PCB and first time disassembling a N64 controller. I want to know by what method do buttons get detected. Is it resistance or capacitance? How can I tell?
I could be wrong here, but I think that the "rubber" buttons might have a conductive coating on the rear of them. When pressed, they short those PCB track "fingers" together so that the controller can detect the button press.
