N Gauge Herkat Traverser

Okey dokey. Another question. Have a look at the view from the top side of the traverser in the attached photo. I am going to use the side with the single track as my"escape" on to the main layout. I am assuming, at this stage, that this should be the designated HOME position and the arduino should be programmed to return to this position at the end of each operation. It was suggested that I use a limit switch to achieve this but I am slightly perplexed as to what I should be looking to get for this function. Is it something like the second illustration I have attached or would it be better to get something that is already pre-wired. GOT THE HANG OF INSERTING IMAGES NOW!!

If you're going to use a switch of the type in your picture (PLEASE read and follow the handy guide to posting images) you're better off using one of the end tracks as the 'home' position. You can mount the lever switch against the side of the transverser. If you want the escape track as your home position, you're better off using a reed switch (the link is for info only). It will be easier to position on the underside of the unit, and the magnet can be mounted under the trolley.
