Nano 33 IoT connect to new Mac

Hi, I bought a new Apple Mac, M2. It has only 2 USB C ports. I bought a transition piece for C port to ordinary USB port . It powers the Nano but will not accept programs as no port dialog box drops down to specify a port. In fact it will not operate any Arduino (Uno, Mega etc)
Any ideas would be welcome. Also, my old Apple Mac will do all old Arduinos but not the Nano 33 IoT. !

Not a Mac user so can't really help. The Nano33 IoT uses a micro-USB connector. Those come in two flavours, charge-only and data/sync; you'll need the latter. If you still have your old Mac, try to get it working on that first.

No idea why the older boards are not recognised by your new Mac.
