The Nano 33 IOT has a MFM3610 buck converter that produces 3.3V. But would it be possible to power it directly at the 3.3V pin from an external regulated 3.3V source? Would the MFM3610 be damaged, or sink lots of current, if its input is open, and power is applied at its output? I don't have one to test with.
Yes.
It wouldn't be damaged and I wouldn't expect it to draw lots of current.
