Nano 33 iot stops working on cloud

Hi all,

I have been using my Nano 33 iot on the Arduino cloud over the last few days with no issues. Now, all of a sudden it won’t work. Firstly, it won’t connect although my device manager on my computer recognises it. On the cloud platform it keeps saying the device is offline. When I go to upload a sketch, it takes ages and then just says it can’t find a device at COM15, or whatever COM port my device is connected to. When I restart the board and upload a sketch, the sketch uploads successfully but it still says that the board is offline. It also won’t read any data from the serial monitor, I keep getting an error saying “Serial port is unavailable”.

This is extremely frustrating as it was working all along and now all of a sudden it just stops. I had the same issue with an ESP-32 also. And before anyone asks, I have tried deleting the device and re-adding it but I keep getting the same errors.

Does anyone know how to fix this or simply know what’s going on? I feel like a chump because I also just upgraded my plan and now it won’t work so I feel like I just wasted my money.

Kind regards,
Sean.

Replace the module and check again.
Possibly the WiFi module is broken.

I thought that too, but I had the exact same problem with another board a few weeks back. I doubt the WiFi module broke twice.

Reset your board using bootloader mode and upload a blink sketch to to it. After this, try updating the wifinina firmware Update the firmware for WiFiNINA and WiFi101
.
Now delete the board as a device in the IoT cloud, restart your browser and then try adding it again. Make sure your Create Agent is running (recommend you uninstall it and then install the latest version) before add the board anew as device.

Thank you, I will try this.

I have tried all this and it still wont work.

Are you using a USB hub? If so, can you connect directly to the PC?

I see that you are using Windows, do you have the chance to use a different OS (Linux or MacOS)?

I can only use Windows. I am connecting my device directly to my PC

Do you have any idea why people have to jump through all these hoops ? You're never going to get to IOT for the masses, if you can't smooth this experience out some.

I here you brother

Have you figured out a solution man?
Im going through the exact same thing
thanks

I'm having a similar problem. Some days the OTA shown when uploading sketches and all works nicely. Then from one day to another there is OTA option when trying to upload and the Nano33 iot board is shown offline. It's really frustating the on-off problem because you can't work properly. As murphyslaww69 comments the process is a failure and makes you waste time!
