Nano avrdude: sk500 upload issues

You might have the CH340 TTL-to-USB chip on the Nanos in which case you need to download the driver from CH341SER.ZIP - NanjingQinhengMicroelectronics and install it.

If you're not sure which TTL-to-USB chip is on the Nano, you can use Windows device manager to find the VID and PID of the device and look it up on the web.

  1. Right click on the device in Windows devise manager and click properties.
  2. Select Hardware Ids in the details tab.
  3. A CH340 would have a the below VID and PID

Once Windows recognises the Nano, you might still have to play with the processor options in the tools menu to achieve a succesfull upload.
