Thanks ieee488 but there is no option to choose "Old Bootloader." I've been through the tutorials, looked at videos, searcehd the forums and I've checked and re-checked everything. I'm wondering if I have a faulty board.I should also add that I have tried the other processor option which is the ATmega 168 and that did not work either.

There is most definitely Atmega328p (Old Bootloader) under Processor after Arduino Nano is chosen.
