Nano33 IOT not working with com ports

I'm trying to make a Nano 33 IoT - ATSAMD21 - board work on Windows 10. The board is connected and the LEDs are blinking properly. However, it looks like Windows cannot assign a proper COM port for communicating with the board. What I've tried to far with my Nano 33 IoT: - Installed "Arduino SAMD Boards" from the Boards Manager;

@adomanim

The Nano33 IoT uses a microUSB port (if I'm not mistaken). MicroUSB cables come in two flavours: charge-only and sync.

With a charge-only cable, there will be no data transfer and hence the PC will not recognise your board. If your cell phone has a microUSB port, try the cable that came with it for data transfer.

It's been a long time since I worked with com ports but, if I remember correctly, a PC uses true RS-232 com protocol so the data will be inverted and will swing between -12V and +12V.

@herbschwarz , quite sure that that doesn't apply here when using USB.

Yes, using USB avoids the over voltage situation. I jumped to confusion, I'm sorry.
