Hello! I am trying to make a line follower car and i have 2 motors: https://ardushop.ro/en/electronics/371-micro-motor-with-reduction-gears.html. Each motor needs 6 V so i tried to use an external power supply for the motor driver. The leds on the motor driver are on but the motors dont work. i bought some 12v battery from everActive but same problem.
We need to see how you have the circuit wired and the code that you are using. We need to know the specifications of the motor power supply. A data sheet for the motor driver would help, too.
Is the motor power supply ground connected to Arduino ground?
Which Arduino board?
Please read the forum guidelines.
If you have 6v motors, why did you buy a 12v battery?

Throw in an L293 or L298 motor driver and the losses of that thing alone get you quite close to the required 6V...

My suspicion is that that was not part of the OP's strategy - hence my question in Reply #2
Hi, Welcome to the forum.
Please read the post at the start of any forum , entitled "How to use this Forum". OR http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php/topic,148850.0.html. Then look down to item #7 about how to post your code. It will be formatted in a scrolling window that makes it easier to read.
Can you please post a copy of your circuit, in CAD or a picture of a hand drawn circuit in jpg, png?
Thanks.. Tom... :)
