I need to create a machine for thread winding. process of the machine step by step should be shown as bellow.
Enter a set value for a thread length ( 5000m ,6000m etc)
Show set value in a 16*2 LCD display
counting thread length and show the value on display ( this will be doing using a rotating wheel by the running thread. wheel gives a 5v pulse for a one rotation. seven number of rotations = 1m)
Activate a relay module for run a 3 phase motor ( relay on until set value=counting value ,after set value reached to counting value relay off / If rotation of the rotation counting wheel stops relay should off at any moment)
I am just a beginner for arduino. please give me a guidance for create this program.
My math is a litte rusty, but circumference is diameter x pi()
distance is circumference of the center of the string on the wheel, so it would be a bit more.
1 meter / 7 / pi() = 45.47 cm ( being in the US, I use inches, hope that should be 45 cm not 45mm)
so, the outside diameter of the measuring wheel would be set for exactly 7 rotations to equal 1 meter ?
Once you get this up and running, it would not be hard to calibrate this for a pretty high accuracy of length.
as for the project, Robin2 covered the steps you need to take.
Looks like you are on your way to a great project. But, consider your 3-phase motor will almost certainly be at speed within a fraction of a second after the relay turns it on. That will surely break the thread.
You have not allowed for a broken thread, but this can be added later if you have a way to detect it.
Where is the thread coming from? Another spool? Is that spool also motor driven, or is the equipment you are planning going to pull it from a spool? Will the thread get tangled while coming from the source spool?
The moving thread will generate static electricity and this may have an effect on your Arduino.
What will the thread be wound onto? If more than one layer, the thread speed will increase as more layers are added. Will this be a problem?
What material is the thread made from? If plant/animal fiber, may I suggest the wheel that measures the length should be rubber coated so the thread does not slip on the wheel.
