Need advice on connector, pic of project box inside

As I get closer to putting my project in this box, I need some kind off two pin connector to carry the WS2812B LED signal and ground lines.

Standard power type barrel plug? 1/8" phono connector? I need something that won't short out one pin to the other when I'm unplugging or plugging it (which should be done with the unit off, but things happen).

Use the same connector as the WS2812B ?

You don't need to use a 2 pin connector, you just need to use 2 pins on a connector and there is a whole world of connectors out there.
