Need advice. Shield a magnetic sensor from the rest of the eletronics?

Hello, I have a RC car with a mini pro and an HC-05 bluetooth module.
I use it to interface with mycellphone to get GPS and Orientations.

I have a big problem, the car greatly interfeers with my cellphone magnetic sensor. and I can only get OK values when the phone is sitting in the edge of the car. (There I can't fix my phone)

I would like to place my phone above the car and somehow shield it from the car motors and wiring underneath.

Does someone has any ideas ?

mu-metal shielding around the motors. mu-metal shouldn't be bent, use as is, because it is
iron or nickel alloy in a highly annealed state with very large magnetic domains.

Make sure all high current winding is twisted pair too.

If the car body is magnetic, you're going to have to mount the phone on a pole well clear.

Hello MarkT, Thank you for the advice.

The car is Plastic and inside I have an arduino pro mini and a bluetooth module.

The place where the eletronics sit is where it gets more interference.

Would it work if I just put a plain sheet of that metal on top of the car and just let the phone sit on it ?
