Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I'll give it a shot anyways.
Looking for a way for an arduino to control the flow of air in an airline. I know I can use a solenoid to turn the air on or off but is there a way to control the amount of air being allowed through the tube?
Looking to create a pocket sized device so if there is an electronic flow control valve in the micro/mini format that runs on 3v that would be ideal.
After a rather quick amazon search all I can find is on/off solenoids or 24v large hydraulic flow control.
Hi,
You need to look far a proportional valve solenoid assembly, not sure if you will have much success with 3V operation.
OR an servo controlled rotary valve.
Look for mass flow controller. https://images.app.goo.gl/Uy94avaiqWdg8Mtd9
Pretty expensive stuff...
As far as I know they never run on 3V...
Maybe a micro servo controlled micro butterfly valve?
Or a stepper motor controlled needle valve?
Maybe some valve that is normally applied in pneumatics of robot arms....
The only thing i can think of, is to use a BMP280 (Aliexpress) that can run at 3.3v. I wanted to make the same item as you are, so i can only guess a theory.
Make a tube with one exit closed. Place the BMP280 as deep as posible and create a low/high presure inside of the tube. There is also a change to use a gas so that you know where the 0 spot lies, if after a while the presure is high you know there is airflow.
