So, I'm working on this project. Basically it reads the status of my lowbeam to adjust the brightness of my Daylight Riding Light (DRL), bright when lowbeam is off (daytime) and dim it down when lowbeam is on (night time), and activates switchback function when signal light is on.
To power it I'll draw from the ACC fuse (cigarette lighter/power fuse) to a 12V to 5V 10A converter and power the whole thing. One DRL is a strip of 70 WS2812b LED, 60mA each, so it's 4.2A per strip, and I have 2 sets so 8.2A for the lights, add 2 Arduino Nano and 2 optocoupler, 10A should be enough.
Between the Data input on the LED strip and the Nano output pin I place a 220Ohm resistor, and a 1000uF capacitor on the LED strip power input as recommended.
Below are the link for the optocoupler and power converter I use. Please feel free to make any recommendation. Thanks for reading guys.
