Need Help Connecting AM412 PIR Sensor to arduino

Hello everyone;

We connected the AM412 PIR sensor to arduino, but no matter what we do, the voltage state is always High!
We don’t know how to use this sensor without it’s module. Does is need any special amplifying?
Should we use interrupt or can we just read the values from analog read?
Or is the problem with timing? How long does it take for the sensor to detect movement?

I also attached the code we’re using and a picture of the results.
Any help will be appreciated :’(
Thanks in advance. :smiley:

PIR_1.ino (575 Bytes)

The sensor chip only?

Yes, a bare PIR sensor needs amplification (e.g. a BISS0001 chip).

And a fresnel lens.

But why bother. A PIR module with all the supporting parts is on it less than US$2.00 shipped. Leo..

Yes, only the chip.
The reason we are not using a module is that it is a basic project and we cannot use a module (though it is much easier :smiley: )

Thanks for your help. I guess BISS0001 chip will work :slight_smile:
