Asus, Acer, and Dell make nice monitors. The cheaper one you linked to has an odd resolution, watch out for that.
I don't know which monitor you were talking about having an odd resolution, since none of the posts had links. FWIW, if you were referring to my post, roughly 1/2 of the monitors at newegg.com have the 1920x1080 resolution that my ASUS monitor has, so right now it is not a odd resolution.
I do wish manufacturers would go back to 4:3 monitors instead of 19:10, since some of us want to program, and not just watch movies.
