Need Help In Choosing The Correct Relay

Good day,

I am working on this simple smart farm project. It's quite straightforward. Just a bunch of nodeMCUs gathering data from sensors, sending it to Firebase and visualizing these data remotely using a desktop application.

Now, my boss wants to add automation to the sprinkler system. Basically, we have three water pumps that he wants to remotely control. Now, I am not an electrical expert so I need help with setting this up.

These are the water pump that needs to be controlled and the relay I am planning to use to control the water pumps.

The pumps will be activated at least three times a day for about 3 minutes each time. Will this relay suffice? If not what would be my best option?

Thanks.

You need to find the controller box for those pumps and control the control box with your Arduino relay. But make sure you can easily and quickly replace a failed relay, because they will fail without much use.
Those pumps are three wire units. One direct, one through a phasing capacitor and one return. The control box has the contactor to starting the pump and the phasing capacitor.

Does that mean that the relay I am planning to use is good for the application I intended?

Good for testing. For long term use, never. Use a SSR, solid state relay to control the pump controller.

Can you suggest a good SSR brand or model for long term use?

relay

I found this in my local Arduino shop. Will this be enough?

Remember, you are replacing a mechanical relay that controls the pump controlling contactor!!!! You only need around one Amp. Likely a heat sink is not needed. Please find the pump controller and it's specifications.
