The vibration switch is pretty much just an ON/OFF switch. They have a new code on their website to use the vibration switch but it was written specifically for the adafruit gemma and it will not compile on the arduino uno or nano. I will post that code below. I thought it might be possible to make a hybrid of both codes but i cant seem to figure out where to start since the code has so many variables specific to the gemma 
I'm wanting to make something for my little brother using this code. I appreciated all of your help and time!
