Need help soldering TB6612FNG headers for me

I am looking for someone to solder the headers on (20) Dual TB6612FNG motor drivers. I would ship you the drivers and then pay to have them shipped back to me when complete. Will pay $150 for the work (or negotiate if this is unrealistic. I want to pay a fair price for the work so that in the end both of us are happy.) I can pay via paypal, cash app, or other common means both of us are comfortable with. I am located in the US, Midwest.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I think the best solution is to purchase a good temperature controlled solder iron. Used ones are ok. I use Weller. A few different tips, solder rosin core but NOT ACID CORE. Watch a few videos and note how the solder flows like water just before removing the iron. In the end you will have acquired a good skill and added to your toolkit. I am assuming the answer to @LarryD question is no.

The price is certainly reasonable: I mean, it's about half an hour of work for $150 (no, I'm not volunteering).

Are you near a Makerspace? Could probably find someone to do it there and save the shipping hassles.

I agree, the price is fair or even generous. That being said I would encourage OP to invest in a pinecil v2 and a breadboard. This is a great learning opportunity and after soldering twenty of these you'll have full confidence in your own soldering abilities going forward.

All,

Thanks for your response. I appreciate the advice and motivation to settle down and do the work. Soldering is the most frustrating aspect when working on projects. I was not aware of smaller soldering kits like the pinecil. I think this will help immensely. I'll give that a go.

I'm not sure how common they are in US, but here in India If I have a lot of soldering work I would go to a local mobile repair shop and they would be happy to take it up. In general any electronic repair shop - mobile, tv, radio etc would have the tools to help you with this.

Yes, thanks. I think that is a good backup option. Cedar lakeinstruments above recommended Makerspace here in the US. I was not aware of them.

Or a smartphone/computer repair shop.

My only other advice is to use leaded solder. Much easier to work with. Health risks IMO aren't significant for people who only work with it on a hobby basis.

FWIW, I have done very fine soldering work with the Pinecil and I have found it adequate to every task. I have hand-soldered 0201 components with it. Highly recommended! Also recommend using brass wool for cleaning, and not water.

Excellent soldering tutorials can be found on websites for hobby outlets Adafruit and Sparkfun.

I'll take it, but I'm overseas :upside_down_face:
