Need Help: strcmp function

In my arduino uno, I’am working on this code sample, but why it does not work?

char packetBuffer[8];
const char startupPacket = “sugodnak”;

// more code
if (strcmp(packetBuffer, startupPacket) != 0) {
Serial.println(“Insakto ka sa tulog”);
}

this packetBuffer was receiving a 8 characters from udp socket, maybe I can declare char packetBuffer[9] to include null terminating character?

Where is delete post?

Ok… strcmp returns 0 if string are equal…

char packetBuffer[8];
const char startupPacket = “sugodnak”;

// more code
if (strcmp(packetBuffer, startupPacket) == 0) {
Serial.println(“Insakto ka sa tulog”);
}

problem solved, thanks to myself

Thanks for taking the time to post an update mikechale. It's better to not delete posts because they may be useful to someone else with the same problem who finds it while searching for an answer.
