Hello guys, I need help with my code. I am a beginner and I don't know what to do. I'm using this code for my BMP280 but I can't get altidute right. It says
Approx altitude = inf m
How can we fix this?
I'm writing the code below.
#include <Wire.h>
#include <SPI.h>
#include <Adafruit_BMP280.h>
#define BMP_SCK (13)
#define BMP_MISO (12)
#define BMP_MOSI (11)
#define BMP_CS (10)
Adafruit_BMP280 bmp;
int pressure = bmp.readPressure();
void setup() {
Serial.begin(9600);
while ( !Serial ) delay(100);
Serial.println(F("BMP280 test"));
unsigned status;
status = bmp.begin(0x76);
if (!status) {
Serial.println(F("Could not find a valid BMP280 sensor, check wiring or "
"try a different address!"));
while (1) delay(10);
}
}
void loop() {
Serial.print(F("Temperature = "));
Serial.print(bmp.readTemperature());
Serial.println(" *C");
Serial.print(F("Pressure = "));
Serial.print(bmp.readPressure());
Serial.println(" Pa");
Serial.print(F("Approx altitude = "));
Serial.print(bmp.readAltitude(pressure/100));
Serial.println(" m");
Serial.println();
delay(2000);
}
Like I said, I am a beginner, please don't make fun of me.
BMP280 cannot measure altitude like a GPS sensor can. It can only measure air pressure. But the way air pressure changes with altitude is easy to calculate. If the sensor knows the air pressure at zero altitude, it can estimate the current altitude from the difference in pressure. But if it doesn't know the air pressure at zero altitude...
Did you try the complete bmp280test example that come with the Library?
