Need help with changing GSM Sim900 changing Char characters

Hello i try to change char characters in the GSM Sim900 sketch but have no luck in making it work correctly my sketch is below.
if pressed a1 led one turn on in sms but if put change the sketch like led1 nothing happens can someone please help me change it

A gives signal i guess which led it is 1 2 3 or 4 and 0 turns off the led 1 turns on the led so i send a text message to the gsm shield with the sms message of a1 together and that turns on the led i think that's how it goes. don't fully know how gsm led controls work.

i try to change if (inchar=='a') to if (inchar=='led') and keep the if (inchar=='0') and if (inchar=='1') the same but when i tried so i sms led1 and nothing happens. if i put back the if (inchar=='led') to if (inchar=='a') and send a sms text message a1 led turns on.

i found out i can change the letter a single letter to any other single letter and that works but putting more then a single letter it won't come up for some reason.

No, mine neither.

i understand that but i was trying to change it so if its a led i was trying to led1 that will turn on the led or servo1 that will turn a servo or anything else trying to control instead of using single letters but if it haves to be single letter then okay i was just wondering maybe it's something i was doing wrong.
