need help with interface setup

Hey,
I want to build a user interface with some led dot matrix. I want to simulate this with arduino.
Can anyone help me where to start? What hardware do I need? I want to link at least 4 8x8 led dot matrices.
Is it also possible to use a capacitive foil with arduino? Is this doable for a beginner?

Thanks

The idea sounds feasible but you need to flesh out your requirements a bit more to be certain.
Driving a 8x8 monochrome LED matrix is easy using a MAX7219 and you can daisy chain them together to drive 4 or more matrix displays.
Capacitive foil needs a bit more explaining as there are several ways to read this. Post links to the foil your hoping to use or explain it in more detail. Is it a strip/sheet. Does it have/need a controller. ETC.

read the forum guidelines.

  1. Make a meaningful subject line

Try to summarize your problem with a helpful and informative subject line. Helpful subjects draw in people who might know the answer. Unhelpful ones are likely to be skipped.

Examples of unhelpful subject lines:

Noob here, help needed
Help me, quickly!
Got error
Lost, help me
Problem with my circuit
No idea what I am doing

================================

then, do some google to find a similar project and see if that answers some or most or all of your questions.

then use a pencil, create a flow chart or a schematic and organize your project into segments.
find and try each segment.

scan your flow chart or schematic, and post along with the code you tried.

I want to link at least 4 8x8 led dot matrices.

This is pretty common. Adafruit sells everything and has sample code. Copied stuff is available from China if you are on a strict budget, but quality may suffer and compatibility is not guaranteed to the Adafruit software.
