Need help with ir sensor and a rele

hi, im trying to use arduino to start a thing with ir.
I got a rele with a ir reciver, but how do I control it? can i open a remote and take out the ir transmitter and put it on arduino and it will work?

You will need to show us a datasheet or an operators manual for this IR relay so we can see how it works.

I Don't have any :S
Only thing i got is this remote, and this rele with ir reciver, i want aruino to operate the ir not using a remote.

First to do would be provide a spec sheet on just how the remote sends the ir signal, chances are it is modulated.
Find those details and then replicate that with an ir tx on the arduino plus any pushbuttons you need.

Seems a bit of a roundabout way of doing things as the remote already does the job without any arduino.

Methinks there is more to this you failed to mention.

First you will need to build an IR transmitter
You will need
IR LED
Transistor
Resistor
Breadboard
Jumper wires
5V power supply.
Arduino

Then you will need to write some code for the Arduino
