hello everyone! I am going to ask for a help in our project pls... we use HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor for obstacle and distance detector but we found out that this kin of sensor is very sensitive in the wind. this sensor is not an outdoor use? if so, what kind of sensor we need to use? anyone can help us please... thank you...
What are you trying to detect or measure ?
For detecting the presence of people, for example, passive infrared sensors (PIR) or radar sensors are good. For measuring distance, some infrared (IR) methods are good.
Maybe say a bit more about this project to get a better answer.
Have you considered a radar based sensor?

Passive infrared sensors are not very useful in this application. These are intended to detect moving obstacles which have a different temperature to the ambient temperature. The cheap (doppler) radar sensors are not very directional and usually designed to detect movement, not static objects
Your bests options are probably Sonar (e.g. SR04) or IR proximity sensors (e.g. GP2Y0A02YK0F ) but here may be others too.

IR proximity can work under sunlight?
What if I will use ultrasonic proximity sensor ? or waterproof Ultrasonic HC-SR04 ? what do you think will be the best on this kind of project?
