Need part advice for external power

Hi, i'm triyng to run 12 Servos (each require 5V and 550mA) and an Arduino UNO with external power coming from a Lithium Polymere Akku.

My question is wich Akku and step-down module i need to power all of this. It would be best if the Parts were as small and light as possible.

i hope someone can reccomend me the required parts.

  1. There are are like hundreds of parts that can work. Do you have more requirements?
  2. Do all servo's need to run at the same time?
  3. Are you sure about the 550mA? I can tell you, that is very light even for a small servo :wink:
  4. I think I would go for a LiPo / servo combo which does not need a converter to keep it simple

Does Akku mean battery?

Yeah, quite some countries call rechargeable batteries akku/accu :slight_smile:

  1. i'm building a very simple walking robot, so except weight not really. And i guess that common liPos arent that heavy

And otherwise, I think I would just grab 1A or 2A step down converters from China and just give every servo it's own converter :slight_smile:

Important question; What is the specs on the battery, Voltage, Capacity?

That was because he did gave a figure for the servo current (true or not) and I assumed he already did the battery calculations (current capacity and energy capacity) because he only asked about the conversion.

Probably :slight_smile: If the real stall current is indeed 550mA. Because those will need a heat sink above +-1A.
