Hi,
I would like to move a stepper and hold it in place, can you recommend me a library to do this ?
It seems that the original stepper.h library liberate the rotor.
We need more information.
Normally stepper motors are powered all the time and will hold position when stationary. You need to describe the project you are trying to implement and tell us why the normal behaviour is not adequate.
Post a link to the datatsheet for your stepper motor and tell us what stepper motor driver you are using.
Post the the program that is causing the problem and tell us what it actually does and what you want it to do that is different.

I just looked at the Stepper library source. It does NOT 'liberate' the rotor. The coils remain energized. There isn't even a function that would allow you to liberate the rotor if you wanted to.
Perhaps your drive voltage/current is too low to hold.
