Need Uno without stacking headers

I need an Uno without headers. Planning to use pogo pins instead. Intended use is for testing and initializing EEPROM on partially assembled shields (Google Code Archive - Long-term storage for Google Code Project Hosting.)

I know I can desolder and remove the headers, but if I can find a board without them from the start it would be a lot simpler. I know I could also buy a bare PCB and build my own, but that's a lot of work.

Any other suggestions?

Just check the other arduino boards and see if one matches your criteria.

The Duemilanove would work for my purposes, too, but like the Uno I would have the problem that the pre-soldered stacking headers interfere with the pogo pins I need instead. Other form factor boards, like the Pro Mini, are out because my shield is made to match the standard Arduino layout.

Or maybe I have misunderstood your suggestion?

You can get a freeduino diy kit at seeedstudio. The only things that are assembled are the usb connector and the ftdi chip.

Kudos to the Freeduino team, whoever you are. Very nice PCB. The header holes along the sides were a very tight fit for my Pogo pins, but ultimately I was able to make a very usable jig for testing and initializing my TC4 shields.

I'll probably load the board with optiboot eventually, but the Freeduino turned out to be an inexpensive solution to my problem.
