I am require to come up with a robotic gripper and we have decided to use a maxon A-max DC motor to open and close the gripper as the motor rotate clockwise and counter clockwise.
Right now, we are figuring out the connection of this motor to the arduino uno board and also the programming for this. We are still a newbie and would appreciate any help that we could get.
We've done research and are not able to find any solutions. Please do help us! We're pretty much desperate. Thank you!
Start by helping us to help you. Post a link to the datasheet for the "maxon A-max DC motor" so that we know what you are talking about.
And if you really do want advice quickly then supply as much relevant information as you possibly can so there is no time wasted with follow-up questions like this.
You need to provide a link to the datasheet of the exact motor; there seem to be multiple types. You will need a driver (e.g. a H-bridge like L298D or a fet equivalent) as the Arduino more than likely can not deliver enough power on its outputs to drive the motor directly. Which one depends on the power and current requirements.

so what would you reccommend if we need to do design a strong liner actuator using arduino??
Attached is the datasheet of the motor being used.
No. Your use of the word "urgent" suggests that you need this device to be operational now. Just get one already made. Google "robot gripper" and buy one with the specs you need. Designing an electromechanical device from scratch for a project that you are on a short timetable with is not really feasible. (Development - and optimization - of such a device will take many weeks.)
Hi,
If you are going to use a motor to tension something, like you do with a gripper, you will need a motor controller with current limit control to protect the motor and the item you are going to grip.
The current drawn will also indicate tension and motor stall.
