Neewer L298N Motor Controller question

I recently purchased a couple of Neewer L298N motor controllers.

I understand that there is a 5v in, ground, and then 12v+ in at the front there.

We can do this the easy way , or the hard way.
Apparently , recently purchased does not equate to recently obtained, so you don't know that the silk screen labels you are asking
about are hidden by the 3 pin connector, which you'll find out when you receive them. If you want to satisfy your curiosity so you can sleep at night you can pull up the datasheet for the L298 and look at the pin number for the logic Vcc and you can check continuity with a meter when you get it, but by then you will have seen the labels on the other side of the connector. Conversely, you can identify ground by doing a continuity check to the ground pins of the chip. So there's not much of a mystery there.
