I've recently been working on an Arduino focused website. I hope to have an active news feed and to update my personal projects on it. What I'm looking for is input as to what people would want from a site of this nature whether it be another place to post their projects or to have lots of easy to understand articles about different components and how to use them?
myarduino.info
Also if anyone knows who owns myarduino.com I would love to see about buying that domain from them.
If at all (i dont like pages splitting communities) i w0ould add the following features (which i miss here)
Simple interface for people showing their projects and keeping it up tp daye
Introduction site
blog
picture gallery
Download functionality
A Library repository
Some searchable Database where libs can be added to. It has to be searchable and taggable with which Arduino Version it was tested
Just an aside, but I was looking at doing a similar thing and found that you aren't allowed to use the term arduino without permission (as it's a trademark). From the arduino.cc web site:
you do not include the word "Arduino" (or derivatives thereof) in the name of your product, company, or domain name without permission
So you need to check with the domain in case you run into any problems.
I'll need to look into the name issue then, thanks for pointing that out. I'll probably end up changing the name of the site soon to the name I originally wanted anyways. And I have no idea who to email to ask about the naming issue.
I like the idea of a blog site for people to add their projects. The other site that would be similar is instructibles but that is for completed projects and isn't specific to arduino.
Also as long as people would be willing to add their own libraries I can help out and would be more than willing to put everything together for another section of the site.
